Announcement: Change in Insurance Policy

After a recent trial period as an “In-Network” provider, we have decided to make a change. We found that, unfortunately, even with PPO policies, insurance reimbursements for chiropractic care are very low—sometimes as little as $14.40 per visit, occasionally reaching up to $26.

At our office, we offer chiropractic adjustments for $65 (CPT Code 98940). This fee covers the adjustment itself, but insurance often won’t cover additional supportive therapies that help relax muscles and make adjustments more comfortable and effective. This holistic care is essential for optimizing the benefits of each visit, yet insurance rarely accounts for it.

Our mission is to make quality chiropractic care affordable without compromising the level of care we provide. While being part of a major network seemed beneficial, these low reimbursement rates make it difficult for any chiropractic office to operate sustainably.

When you come to see us, all care is provided directly by Dr. Caldero—not a staff member—ensuring the highest level of personalized treatment.

Many of our patients assume their “great insurance” will fully cover chiropractic care, but this isn’t always the case. For instance, some insurers will only cover care for two weeks if there is no immediate improvement, deeming any further treatment “not medically necessary” and denying reimbursement.

We wanted to share these reasons so it’s clear why we have chosen to discontinue direct insurance billing. However, we’re still here to support you! We can provide you with a Superbill for possible reimbursement from your PPO insurance plan. This approach can often result in quicker reimbursement directly to you, and sometimes at a higher rate than what we receive.
